Device does not turn on
The device's screen does not illuminate after powering on the device.
Dead battery
Make sure your device is not just out of battery by plugging it into a power source. If the Garmin logo appears on the screen, the device has recognized the power source and has begun charging. Keep the device plugged in until it has been sufficiently charged.
Faulty screen
If the display still doesn't illuminate after the device has been charged, but there is audio coming from the device, you have a faulty screen and may need to replace it.

If the screen is cracked and is affecting the touchscreen performance of the GPS, it may need to be replaced.
Lines going across the screen
There are lines going across the digital display of the GPS, usually appearing after the device has been dropped or hit.
Faulty screen
If there are lines going across the display of your device, it is most likely due to a faulty screen that must be replaced.
Car charger does not work
Your GPS does not recognize it has been plugged into a power source when connected to the car charger.
Faulty Outlet
Try using your charger with a different outlet. If the charger works properly when used with an alternative outlet, your car's outlet is faulty.
Blown charger fuse
Try charging your device with the Garmin charger besides the car charger. If the car charger is the only one that does not seem to work, the fuse in the car charger is probably blown and needs to be replaced.

Faulty charging port
If other chargers besides your car charger are also not working, it is likely that the charging port is damaged. If the charging port cannot be replaced by separating it from the motherboard, you may need to replace the motherboard.
Battery does not hold a charge
It takes a long time to charge the device. After fully charging your device, the battery drains abnormally fast.
Incompatible charger
Make sure that you are using the charger for the same model. Chargers of different models may not be compatible with Garmin Nuvi LM65, thus charging it slowly.

Faulty battery
If the battery is unable to hold a charge, you may need to replace it.
No audio or distorted audio
The GPS audio is not working, distorted, or difficult to hear.
Faulty speaker
Make sure the device is not muted by turning on the volume. If your device's audio is still distorted or nonexistent, it is most likely due to a faulty speaker that may need to be replaced.
Suction cup mount is not staying on windshield
Dirty suction cup and/or windshield
If the suction cup is not securely attaching to your windshield, try cleaning the suction cup and the windshield with rubbing alcohol and drying them with a clean, dry cloth.
Device does not acquire satellite signals
Refer to Garmin's owner's manual
